About us

VÆRFAST - WHAT, WHO, WHERE?

We are a group of four who, after a pleasant dinner in the winter of 2017, started planning the concept that Værfast has now become. We opened our doors at Hanstadgata 7, (Ringebu - Gudbrandsdalen) in September the same year.

We wanted a place to meet in Ringebu, in the afternoons and evenings, and each of us had some ideas and hobbies that resulted in that a shop, cafe, bar and guiding/courses felt natural to gather in the same place. We hope that both locals, cabin owners and passersby will find their way to Værfast for a pleasant chat about equipment, a good cup of coffee or perhaps an afterwork/afterbike/afterski. As our concept has grown, more people have asked for the opportunity to shop with us online. We want to meet the demand and hope that you who shop with us here in the online store will have a good experience! And we hope that you will also have the opportunity to visit the physical store sometime in the future.

Værfast haS some fantastic employees, who are absolutely invaluable for our concept to be able to keep going. Anders, who guidee on many of the summer bike tours. Olena, Signe, Helene, Gard and Trym who are our extra helpers in the shop and café. We also greatly appreciate friends who step in and help us during extra busy periods (none mentioned, none forgotten). We must also mention Varde Inversteringslaug, who became co-owners of Værfast in the spring of 2024 and with whom we are now working closely to achieve future goals, dreams and visions.

We are lucky to have such a great team around us, you can look forward to meeting them all!
